Spain’s investment residency program, also known as the Spanish Golden Visa, allows foreign citizens to make significant investments in the country and apply for an investment visa. Successful applicants and their families are granted visa-free access throughout the Schengen Area in Europe.
- The application must be submitted using the prescribed form, along with the required fees and supporting documents. The initial residency permit is valid for three years and can be renewed for five years, provided that the minimum investment level in Spain is maintained.
- The process consists of two phases: first, applying for a residency visa in your home country to live and work in Spain for one year; then, submitting an application for the Spanish residency permit. If arriving on a tourist visa, the applicant can apply for the residency permit directly, bypassing the initial phase.
- The permit applies to the investor, their spouse or partner, and dependent children. There is no minimum stay requirement, but it is necessary to visit Spain to obtain the first permit.
